4th week in communication
23-24 /03/10
Creative writing for biotech professionals. Its our two day session with Ms.Liew Suet Fun. I must admit I was really sleepy at the beginning of her speech and what I thought it was a really slow and boring morning as the explanation and intonation used didn’t really excites me. But then when she read us about a piece of her writing, I was really amazed that she actually have gets me feelings by the way it’s been wrote and I really think that was a great piece. She was previously a consultant but she got a real deep passion toward writing and make her dream become a reality when she quit and become a writer finally. She has written a couple of books and article that what I can say that it’s a world class quality. She also did bring the books to show to us and it’s fantastic. After delivering its expertise to share with us, we did exercise where we need to gave a comment to an article which is scientific but was written in a creative way for a layman understands. What we having that particular time were about the small world that was unseen; the bug’s world. Its was written by a person who does not even have a scientific background whereas he was a photographer, which makes sense that the photo was really nice and meticulous, I wonder how he’s able to capture such a small creature to its particular details. I wish I could master the skill. However, apart from nice photos, the content was really originals and we did some comments about the written style he used. It’s really a good practices and I could used it for what ever materials I reads. The second days we used all the skill we have to re-writes a scientific article and make it in a layman version. We did about mind-mapping techniques and re-write it creatively so that everyone could understand. At the end when she did the comment part our group has wrote it in a way that she thinks to pleasing, because there were no arguments about it and as we get paid to write all the good about it. It not a good way to done it. I have learn so much about how to write a scientific article in a layman version. The key is to humanize, to be metaphoric and don’t get scientifically detailed. We learn from the best.
25/ 03/10-NLP
Have you ever heard of NLP? Neuro linguistic program. Actually when I first saw the word on the daily schedule I wonder what we were going to learn. But ones you know it or maybe experienced it you will love it. We had the session with Mr. Faizal Kamal, he is a lawyer and the law officer in UIA and also a NLP practitioner. Its all about the mentality and the things that we received from our 5 senses could do with our mind thus results the physical action. This was something new to me although I have heard it in a slightly different version; it was something to do with hypnosis which was handled in a bad way. But today the concept was able to alter my perspective and it was real and fantastic, I was shocked to have experienced the events for the day.
During the activity the hypnosis activity , he wanted us to deeply go to our subconscious mind, but I was really highly conscious that time which he wants us to believe that there were a balloon and a concrete rock that were tied on our left and right hand. But because I was really alert, its doesn’t work on me, suppose to be our hand with heavy rock will slightly goes down and with balloon its goes up, but mind was in the same level. And I laugh after realizing that. But somehow when he were doing it again and this time he makes me believe that my hand we tied up together, the fact that I believed it makes me thinks that I was real and even though I struggling to untie it but I cant, I was panicked and nearly cried to able be hypnoses like that. I was an awesome experienced. Not only me, there were some of my friend were effected by deep emotional feeling and he droved them into sub-conscious mind and they were pouring with tears, he makes them cry non-stop for about 20 minutes. We also did some positive thinking by channeling our inside potential to a light bulb and it can break a thick glass because we believe in what we have thus makes the bulb strong to break that glass.
This session really leaves a great impact to me as he was fascinating me with hypnosis skill which could make us to realizes the dynamic and potential that we had, besides the believes that we had will resembles the action that we never think we could. This session really keep me to be positives and have the faith on what I believe to be a successful person.

3rd week
Hello readers. This is the update for the 3rd week of the program.
Monday (15/03/2010)- On the first day of the week we had a mock interview which is handle by Mr.Farizal who is the trainer for interview techniques and also Public speaking techniques. The day started with a brief and loaded with thoughtful explanations on how to attend an interview and tips on how to do well during the interview. H e also discussed some of the most common questions that we will face at a job interview and basic principal on how we should response to it and also the types of interview such as, one-on-one, by group, breakfast or lunch interview and a few more . After lunch break we started the mock interview session, by name listed I am the 5Th candidate for the day. There are not much of clues of what the company or the position that was open to candidates (us), so I hoped its something that I am familiar with to make my self valuable for the position. As times goes by, we are called to enter the room. These times it was a group interview and it was my first time experiences. There were 4 candidates including myself to grab only one post of opportunity. About 30 minutes of time taken to discuss and convinced the employer why we should be the most perfect person for the job. Finally we ended it with the comments from the observer Mr.farizal in which area we need to polish or skill that we need to improve. As for me, I have got some good comments and only my voice projection need to be louder. I really found this topic was a good practice for future interview.
Wednesday (17/03/2010)
Today the class started with some nerves shocking morning. Due to some of the trainees were accidently made decisions to go home early regardless the fact that our working time has to end by 5 p.m. Due to this matters we were all remaindered by Mr.Najmi who is our head of the program to never again repeated such unprofessional behavior. Mr. Najmi expressed his frustration toward our group and lesson learned as we need to be punctual and more humble as well as to treat this program as our work and we work by participate in the program and we need to give 110% effort toward its, otherwise we might get expelled and there are a line of people who are much interested to join this program. Lessons learned.
Today we had Body Language technique, which is surprisingly handled by Ms.Fatimah Abu Bakar. She was a guess speaker for the day and I personally feel very lucky to have her as one of the trainer. As most of Malaysians knows her for being a wonderful and professional performance teacher for Astro entertainment show, Akademi Fantasia, she was natural in her own way in teaching us how to present our self when we were speaking with perfect gesture and body language. Body language is important, because we could give idea or assumption to people just by looking at their gestures and body movement, for instances, if someone was actually speaks to you or give information with their eyes wildered elsewhere its give a meaning that the fellow is not giving a reliable information or that person is actually lying. Other than that voice projection and using a right intonation is a main key to get people attention if we are about to give a speech.
Thursday (18/03/2010)
Grooming and Dining etiquette is the subject for the day. Yes, I know I should be wearing the best outfit I had, but then I just didn’t have that lot of choices due to the fact that I never had this kind of corporate attire collection in my wardrobe. Basically what I did today is being one of the models to run the runaway stage and shows what I have on my body to get some comments from the trainer. What I have actually was correct for the working attire except it would be better if my black pants were unattached of the back pocket because it shows semi casual outfit and more like a black jeans rather than black pants that suitable for work. Towards the end of the sessions we have make-up sessions. The trainer demonstrates on how to put proper make-up for work without overdoing it. Tasha and Kavitha was the model for this demo. They really look different after some make over done to their faces. It was an interesting class.
Friday (19/03/2010)
For the Advanced report writing, we were ask to think of the areas of the program that we think could be improves and prepare a survey paper for responds from the others. After discussing we agreed that the class volumes or population is the issue which can affects the effectiveness of the learning process throughout the program.

Second Week ~~The BesT journey begins….
There was so much speculation in my mind when I was about to complete the application form to signup for the Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Special Training (Best) that just been downloaded from BiotechCorp website and printed out nicely from my Hp printer. Question such as “What is the subject offered to the trainee?”, “Am I competence enough to be selected as one of the fortunate participant?”, “There might be a great advantages for me if I choose to join this program?”
After receiving a call that I have been waiting for almost 3 month, I am finally accepted to this program.
The first week was all about to get familiar with UniRazak the most conducive learning place for the training and as well as to know all the participants involves. We did go for ice breaking and team building process which held for 2 days, 1 night at Lembah Nur Pangsun, the activities we had there were all very gripping exciting, interactive and motivating, which makes all of us work as a team.. fuuhh! I wish there were more!
The second week, the first communication module started.
- Effective resume writing
- Impressive cover letter
- Effective meeting
- Public speaking techniques
- Report writing
I had written and made a resume before, but I never thought that there were so many aspects that need to be into consideration and which part needs to be highlight on to make an effective resume. From the font, the arrangement and the content which are relevant to insert on the resume, all need to be perfect! The most important thing, a resume needs to be compact and short! As long as all the requisite information are there to reflects ourselves. This class has really helped me to do some vital alteration for my current resume as well as improves it. J So does the effectives cover letter.. I have learnt so much from this course! J Personally I think that an impressive cover letter makes an impressive introduction about us…Yes~Yes~ I like it very much!
Ohhh… not to forget! PUBLIC SPEAKING class… o...OOOO... I am really afraid of public speaking, it makes me shaking to my knees and sometimes I can’t even stand well! Its really get me to my weakest point. When I think about it I just didn’t have the confident... But sometimes I felt that I have confident enough to do it but when stands in front of the whole class to perform it.., I just can do it well…But then learning makes easy when you have a good trainers and a bunch of very encouraging and supportive class! Thank to all of you, I think I am much better speaker, yet there are so much to be improves. Hehehehe…
NOW I get it all answered!!

I thought creating a blog is easy as pie but then I never been creating any blog before… Daa?? Don’t know why?? .. But today here with Dr.Khairudin, one of famous blogger is teaching us and educated us on how to write a blog. Our first assignment is going to be the first impression been in UniRazak..
UniRazak is located in Capsqure KL, i'd heard of it before this capsquare name but I never know where it is in KL part which is the building standing...So to make it uncomplicated I’ve take the cab for the very confused rushing morning I’ve been asking to be there...Whoops... The cab (taxi) cost me RM9, but it’s Ok because it’s exactly my fault not to survey the location first before coming over here: P
It’s WOW!! Me the first time...I mean the building is so sophisticated the environment was very pleasing to me that morning yet then, I was seriously late man!!~~ Uhh Uhh...
I was late and I’d no idea where was the training center for the BeST programme participant shall gathered. Of course I know I supposed to be in Unirazak but I am so confused and I am standing puzzled in the center off outside the KL-lite building talking to the phone with somebody I thought might know which where shall I go.. Prolong the conversation with him makes me dizzied more. Thank God someone approached and interrupted me, and the nice fellow asks me “Are you looking for BeST programme Training??” and 3 minutes later I was in the class...I was dazed by the conducive learning environment the moment I entered the room... The campus is superior with air-conditioned and very cozy cushioned chair (it can bend and rotate..WuuHUUUU) <3>
The trainers are amazingly friendly and professionals in terms of knowledge and education. I’ve learned so much from these courses and felt very lucky and overwhelmed to join the courses. It’s gave me direction to start my career (in biotech and entreprenure) and to get ready to entered the workplace environment
